Lubrication technology audit

How can you produce efficiently using less lubricant, at lower cost, and with higher safety conditions?

Our lubrication technology audit gives you all the answers.

We develop and submit recommendations to improve your lubrication technology operations based on the results of our lubrication technology audit and experience gained in auditing your plant. In this way you can achieve optimal cost-efficient production.

Our lubricant audit includes:

  • the audit or revision of documentation
  • thorough analysis of operating conditions
  • the status of all relevant machinery and engines
  • sampling analyses and the re-fill and exchange of lubricant loads
  • studying existing lubricant storage practices.

All this forms the basis for developing a really professional action plan.

The right lubricant application will significantly enhance your productivity!

Professional lubricant application helps improve production reliability and profitability and the quality of finished products, because, otherwise, your relevant key performance indicators will start going downhill fast!

All issues related to the use and application of lubricants must be revised from time to time!

Replacing or changing machinery and engines, volatility in load factors and mode of operation lead to the need for continuous adjustments in lubricant application practices – far too often neglected and omitted – quite frequently due to lack of relevant expertise.

When can a lubricant technology audit optimally be carried out?

  • If lubricant technology activity has not been the focus for quite some time and you wish to improve production efficiency profiting from opportunities offered by appropriate lubrication technology
  • If your machinery park has gone through major changes
  • If significant changes have emerged in technology or load factors and machinery operating conditions have changed

How is an audit performed?

A lubricant technology audit can only be successfully performed in close cooperation between the audit experts and your production experts with firm management support and commitment.

Key steps in the lubricant technology audit:

1. Developing and setting targets with senior management

  • Defining specific goals and objectives for the audit
  • Defining the composition, scope of authority and responsibilities of the audit teams
  • Preparing the timetable.

2. Audit planning

3. Lubrication assessment – an audit based on documentation

4. A detailed on-site audit, covering:

  • analysis and revision of practices related to the storage, stockpiling and application of lubricants
  • sampling and testing of lubricant oil loads, diagnosis machinery status by applying WearCheck lubricant oil tests
  • analysis and revision of applicability of lubricants used for the machinery and engines.

5. Evaluation and audit report

The audit report will contain:

  • a management summary offering a detailed description of the audit results
  • recommendations for a rationalised lubricant portfolio
  • proposals for modifying the lubrication manual for machinery and engines
  • further development of lubricant technology activities, training courses, etc.
  • A statement of the expected outcome.

The positive results of implementing the action plan based on the audit report:

  • lower financing cost of lubricant stock
  • simplified processes for lubricant supplier management
  • risk of using wrong or erroneous lubricants practically excluded
  • simpler and more efficient lubricant storage and management
  • enhanced level of and higher success rate for maintenance based on recommendations prepared for the following areas of the audit report:

- introduction or further development of maintenance based on WearCheck oil diagnostics -indirect machine status monitoring
- introduction of professional sampling techniques, application of adequate testing methods
- training of staff in lubrication operations, improving lubrication and relubrication practices.
