THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN THE WINTER

When it comes to diesel, issues usually arise during winter. Here are some tips worth considering!

• Use a heated filter or a water separator filter.
• Get a spare filter and keep it in a warm place if possible.
• Have you been driving your car for years? Clean the tank and the fuel system.
• Check the condition of the fuel hoses and the seals.
• Check the air filter as well, replace it if wet and/or clogged.
• Only get on the road with a correctly functioning battery with an adequate charge.
• Use an engine oil with good cold properties.
• Make sure that you have good compression.
• Under extreme winter conditions, make sure to buy EVO Diesel Plus whenever possible, as its special formulation ensures that the engine will start even at temperatures as low as -38°C. If it is not an option to buy EVO Diesel Plus:
• only use electric air heaters for warming up
• below -20°C, go as far as to run the engine several times at night.
